Jane is a certified professional dog trainer, living in Victoria, BC. She started The Noble Hound in 2002 and for almost 20 years, has taught group classes at a local recreation centre, but is now concentrating on private lessons.

Jane’s own dogs are Rhodesian ridgebacks, which are known as a versatile breed. She has participated in many different activities including: Obedience, Rally-O, Agility, Straight-racing, Tracking, Nose-work, Herding and Conformation. Her dogs have also been registered pet therapy dogs, visiting schools, hospitals and senior residencies. However her favourite activity remains going for long walks with her dogs. She believes that it is essential that dogs get sufficient exercise and mental stimulation to prevent many of the behaviour problems that arise out of an excess of energy and or boredom.

Private Lessons

Sometimes more individual help is needed for a dog. It may have difficulty focusing in close proximity with other dogs or need help with a behaviour problem that is best resolved one-on one. Whether you wish to brush up on basic obedience skills or resolve a specific problem, this may be the best choice for you and your dog.

Private lessons are also a great way of introducing a puppy to it’s new home and starting training, before undesirable habits develop. All the basics are covered, such as crate training, bite inhibition and house training, as well as basic obedience skills.

A rescue dog, of any age, will also really benefit from a few private lessons as it settles into it’s new home, learning to trust you and build a lifetime bond.
